WHY Rx Dollars Are Needed!

Increasingly, a great number of our neighbors have come to us with these types of medical requests:

  • I need a procedure performed and I don't have the initial deposit.

  • Can you help me fill this emergency prescription?

  • Because of my health condition I became homeless and need temporary lodging during my recuperation.

  • My insurance doesn't cover these medical supplies, can you help me?

  • Can you help me buy this over-the-counter medication?

  • My free samples have run out and I cannot afford my medicine.

Requests to The Shepherd's Staff for healthcare assistance from underinsured and uninsured residents of Carroll County have escalated each year at a rate of 15%.  To continue responding to this growing need, The Shepherd's Staff estimates than an average of $12,000 - $15,000 will be needed to maintain THE Rx FUND.

How Others Have Helped ...

CHURCHES

  • Churches used THE Rx FUND as a youth service project

  • Sunday school classes were challenged to fill " REX" The Piggy Bank during the month of October

INDIVIDUALS

  • A couple celbrated their anniversay by asking guests to donate to THE Rx FUND
