POSITION AVAILABLE The Shepherd’s Staff, a nondenominational faith-based non-profit organization, is seeking an individual to fill a non-exempt position (35 hrs. per week) at its office in Westminster, MD. Hours are flexible, but generally M-T-W-F — 7 hours/day and Thurs 12 p.m.-7 pm. Position is available immediately. Hiring salary is up to $15 per hour depending upon experience, especially with a non-profit. Benefits include paid holidays, vacation, and sick time. This position serves as the primary administrative support to assist the Director in fundraising, administration, and marketing. Will represent the Director at seminars and meetings, as needed. The individual will help develop marketing materials for fundraising and program events; coordinate the promotion and logistics of events with local media and the community; serve as the primary communications link among volunteers, staff, community partners, and board members via telephone, e-mail, and in writing; oversee website; help prepare periodic newsletters, media releases, and mailers; handle day-to-day e-mail correspondence; some weekends and evenings may be required for special projects/meetings (flex-time considered). Performs other duties as identified and assigned. High school graduation is required, a college degree is preferred. Three or more years in office administration and public relations is desired. All applicants must demonstrate advanced user knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Publisher, and web-site design and administration. Superior written and verbal skills are needed, as is the ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast-paced working environment. The individual hired must be attentive to detail, organized, and able to use judgment and discretion when interacting with other staff, donors, volunteers, and board members.
