HOW YOU CAN HELP


Financial Support

  • Designate The Shepherd’s Staff as a charitable recipient of your organization, company, event, etc.
  • Invite your faith affiliation to give monetarily.

  • Contribute to the Endowment Fund.

  • Honor loved ones with memorial gifts.

  • Organize/Sponsor a fundraiser.

  • Participate in annual fundraisers and other special events.

Donate Food

  • Community Thanksgiving Day Dinner – Baked goods, fresh fruit, & wrapped candy

  • July 4th Cookout – Desserts & beverages

  • Emergency Meals & Snacks – Canned soups, pasta, crackers, peanut butter and jelly

  • Daily Hospitality – Coffee, tea, sugar, creamer, lemonade mix, paper products

Donate Goods

  • Used Books and Magazines for the “Take A Book” program.

  • Clothing for men, women, and children for “The Shepherd’s Shed”

  • Baby Clothing – gently used

  • Blankets – for cold weather

  • Towels & soap – for bath facility

  • Soap & bleach – for laundry facility

  • Blessing Closet Program - personal hygiene items, cleaning supplies, diapers and baby essentials, baking soda, vinegar, ammonia

Back-To-School Program

  • 3-ringed binders & paper

  • Pencils, pens, & crayons

  • Scissors & rulers

  • New or gently-used clothing for ages 4-18

  • New shoes for ages 4-18

  • A contribution of $10 to the Back-To-School Campaign will help to buy new shoes and backpacks - $10 Paves the Way for Back-To-School Day!!

Call For Coats

  • Outerwear for infants through adults.

  • Collection begins each Fall at Admiral Cleaners in Westminster.  Distribution of coats takes place at The Shepherd’s Staff

Easter Baskets

  • Assembled baskets for infants up through early teens are needed to reflect the spirituality of the Easter season

Buy Products with a Mission

In addition to providing revenues for out outreach programs, sales of these unique gifts make it possible for us to offer non-traditional work opportunities to people with employment barriers.  By recycling unusable cloth and clothing donations we can produce specialty items and teach sewing skills.  Perfect for any occasion - Birthdays, Holidays, Special Times, Weddings, Corporate Gifts, and more...

 

Become A Volunteer

If giving of yourself is a way your wish to serve, listed below are a variety of ways in which The Shepherd’s Staff can utilize your time and talents. To sign up, fill out and submit the  Volunteer Form.

  • Receptionist – Greet Clients

  • Clerical – Typing, collating, data entry, correspondence, etc.

  • Join a committee or our Board of Directors

  • Grant Writing

  • Organize Mailings

  • Professional Services

  • Fundraising/Events

  • Building Maintenance

  • Products with a Mission Production or Marketing

  • Work Hands-on with Outreach Programs

  • Sort Clothes

  • Clip Coupons

  • Housekeeping – yard, garden work, snow removal, etc.

  • Help with one of our programs - Thanksgiving Day Dinner, July 4th Cookout, Back-To-School, Blessing Closet, Easter Basket project, Call for Coats, or others

 

Each of these opportunities can be tailored to your own personal time commitment and can be done as a one-time project or on an on-going basis.

Without volunteers we cannot serve the community effectively. Since the Shepherd’s Staff does not receive funding from federal, state, or county agencies, your time is critical for the effective continuation of our work in the community.
